Music of the Wednesday – 妖精大戦争 ~ Fairy Wars

I’ve developed a huge thing for 12.8’s music lately, particularly this song. No wit today, just analysis!

This is probably the least fitting ‘final boss’ song I’ve ever heard, yet somehow it works. In all its light-heartedness and fluff, there’s something about it that stands out. If you can’t figure it out, it’ll hit you that this whole ‘war’ is really just a giant game to everyone (except maybe Cirno). Aside from trashing Cirno’s house, nothing big really happens to spark it. The fairies are bored and having fun.

Despite this, it still manages to feel properly epic for a final boss. The middle section with all the brass is the perfect example of this. One could look at it as Cirno’s perspective. While everyone else is thinking of all this as a game, she’s seeing it as something bigger. She sees it as something epic, worthy of big, powerful brass instruments.

Anyhoo, unfortunately short analysis this week. Going to end up trying a few different ways about going at these MotW posts to see what works best. If you fine folks particularly enjoy one, feel free to let me know. Also, if you like what you see here, feel free to subscribe, comment, or tell your friends. As always, thanks for your support and have  a good’un.

Let me give you a suggestion. You could insert those songs in the sidebar on your right using the vodpod widget. Its really usefull and it gives the reader a diffrent feeling if he is listening to the music while reading your posts.
