There, I said it. Wanko to Kurasou, you’ve been out-cute’d, even with your doglolis. Sorry.
The best thing about it? To quote a guy from a forum I hit up, it’s not all in your face about being cute. It’s a genuine feel-good, colorful, happy game. Hell, the narration sounds like it’s a favored uncle or father reading from a child’s story book. You cannot die. Everything (for the most part) looks like cotton, yarn, or fabric. It’s so… kid-friendly.
And you know what? That’s just glorious. I’m glad to say that we have a happy, cheery, fun game. I’m not so much /tired/ of super-serious, dark games (Hell, I’m playing through Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne at the moment) as I am burnt out, somewhat, on them.
Thank you, Nintendo and HAL Laboratories and whoever else was involved in making this. I’m glad to squee like a little fangirl whenever Kirby yelps from being carried up on a fountain of water.
Water made of yarn. Merry belated Xmas, folks.
